DARLINGTON, S.C. – DC Solar, a California-based clean energy company that specializes in mobile solar technology, has been named the Official Mobile Solar Provider at Darlington Raceway.
Under the new partnership, Darlington Raceway will incorporate DC Solar’s environmentally friendly light towers into its safety and security network throughout the venue. Since solar technology requires no fuel and only minimal maintenance, incorporating solar will allow the track to operate with greater efficiency, and at a substantially lower cost.
“We’re excited about our new partnership with DC Solar,” Darlington Raceway President Kerry Tharp said. “Having DC Solar as a partner in our strategic initiatives to be more environmentally friendly with the use of renewable energy is important to us. The safety of our fans who attend our race weekend events is our top priority and adding these light towers into our security network will help ensure a safe environment for all our guests.”
“As a lifelong NASCAR fan, I’m incredibly proud to be in partnership with such a historic raceway,” said Jeff Carpoff, DC Solar’s CEO. “Helping Darlington Raceway modernizes by integrating renewable energy products into its inventory will ensure the future of “The Lady in Black” for generations to come.”
The mobile solar light towers provided by DC Solar will be distributed around the track property for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 weekend.
